IBM Worklight: A mobile application platform

Worklight is a new IBM acquisition with products and solutions to support the rapid growth of mobile devices organizations need to support. Complimenting IBM's current offerings with Worklight will allow customers to quickly and efficiently develop, manage and control mobile web applications.

When MQ first delivered shard queues, one significant benefit was the 'pull' model of message processing, the queue managers that were most efficient processed the most messages. In some circumstances, the ‘pull’ model is not the best model for the overall environment. In addition, when there are asymmetric sysplex environments there can be a significant workload skewing towards more powerful processors or towards LPARs getting better response time from a coupling facility. There are also efficiencies built into WMQ and other subsystems that favor doing work locally when possible, as that is more efficient. This session, offered exclusively in the System Z Software Solution Suite, will outline some ways to help control the flow of the message processing, to take advantage of shared queues while more evenly distributing the work.
