The group is designed to provide professionals, users and consultants a forum to share ideas, experience, expertise and best practices. This group plans to have technical sessions, presentations and product overviews from IBM, vendors & customers to learn latest enhancements to WebSphere Application Server and related technologies, focusing on Cloud Computing.

    The Chicago North-West WUG now has 2 new leaders:  Elena Nanos - HCSC (Blue Cross Blue Shield) Lead Systems Architect and Cindy Schmoeller - CSC  WebSphere Engineer.  For more details, please click on the Contact Group Owner link under the group profile picture or email Elena_Nanos@bcbsil.com.

    Abstract:  Singleton is one of design patterns that have been used almost everywhere. But there are some tips and ticks in implementing it correctly. Do you know them? This presentation will provide you 7 different Singleton implementations in Java. Do they all implement the pattern correctly? Which one is the best?


    We also schediuled a Webcast on 6/13 at 11am CDT Webcast on Advanced MQ Messaging - MQ Workload Balancing in a 'Plexed’ world.  Presentor is Lyn Elkins who works for IBM's Advanced Technical Skills team, where she heads up a small team of experts on the WebSphere MQ family of products on z Hardware.
